Workshops & PD

Hands-on AI workshops: the first taste of the work.

Professional development for staff and leadership, every session road-tested in real schools, including my own. Each stands on its own. Each is also how partnerships tend to begin.

Littlejohns is an educator-led partnership for AI in schools; these workshops are the professional development rung of that work (PD or CPD, whichever your school calls it). For the whole picture, start with the full partnership.

AI in Education: the foundations series

The grounding every staffroom needs: what AI actually is, what it does to teaching and learning, and how to use it well without handing it the thinking. Originally delivered as a three-part series to a whole school staff, now refined and ready to run for yours.

What it covers

  • Create your AI minimum toolkit: the few tools that cover what teachers need
  • Re-design assessment for AI, so the thinking stays with the student
  • Create AI chatbots and meta prompts that work your way
  • The 57-page workbook with frameworks, prompts and worked examples

Also available as a free recorded course, if you want a taste before booking anything.

The whole-staff AI fluency series

The most comprehensive version of the work: the professional development series I built and run inside my own school, adapted to your context. Each session is built so nobody leaves with just theory: staff use the tools in the room, on their own real tasks, and walk out with something they can use the next morning.

What it covers

  • Sequenced sessions pitched separately for leadership, senior school (high school) and junior school (primary)
  • A shared language for AI expectations across the school
  • Confidence and fluency measured before and after, so you see the shift
  • Built around your context, not recycled slides

This series is the training core of the full partnership, available standalone.

AI Bots for School Leaders

The leadership masterclass co-created with Gerard O'Keeffe, Deputy Principal: school leaders build their own working AI assistant in the session, for a real problem on their own desk. Delivered to forty deputy principals across two leadership conferences, and the feedback says it plainly: "I would recommend it for all settings and roles."

What it covers

  • Build a working AI bot in the room, no technical background needed
  • Leadership use-cases: communication, planning, data, workload
  • The judgement layer: what to delegate to AI and what never to
  • A takeaway your leadership team keeps using

Most leadership teams use this as the first taste of working together.

The time question

Where the time comes from.

Every school asks about time, and it is the right question. The pattern across the schools I've worked with: sessions run inside the staff-meeting hour or the twilight slot the school already has, so nothing new lands on the calendar. Every session produces something usable in the room (a working bot, a framework, a re-designed task) rather than notes to act on later.

And when teachers report back afterwards, the most-reported outcome is time saved. Delivery comes to you, too: at your school, wherever in the world you are, or live online.

The honest frame

The work after the workshop is what changes a school.

One great session lifts a staffroom for a fortnight. What lasts is what happens after: the follow-up, the champions, the measurement, the tools your staff keep using because they solve a real problem. That's the work of the partnership, and it's why every workshop here is built to lead somewhere rather than end at the door.

If you're not sure which session fits, start with the readiness scorecard. The step your school is on usually answers the question.
